Early and the cats are about |

Off to Vrysses to shop and have a
drink at the cafe and use their loo. Good loos are a rarity
and usually involve having more to drink... |

We had lunch in a 'bandstand' in the Kutsifou gorge in
the middle of the car
park, which sheltered us from the heat of the day. |
Meadow Brown |

Tamarisk |
We walked along the beech towards the
cliffs past the Greeks with their families to the area for the nudists -
heavily patronized by conker brown Germans. We considered
skinny dipping, but not having a towel decided against it. |
Tribulus terrestris |
Spurge Hawkmoth |

Vitex agnus-castus |
Climber |
Daphne gnidioides |
Down to the sea |
We scrambled up the hillside in the
Kourtaleotiko Gorge and found biarum davisii, a Crete endemic, unfortunately I could not get a good
photograph, but include it anyway.
The Sternbergias were
growing in the rocks all down the sides of the gorge. |
